⚾️ Mid Summer Classic ⚾️ 📆 Saturday, July 4, 2026 📍 Barrie Sports Complex The time is almost here for our annual Mid Summer Classic! In true sandlot fashion, teams will be created through a random glove toss on event day, no pre-selected rosters. Players from the same House League team may find themselves competing against one another, making for a fun and unique experience. The Mid-Summer Classic is all about bringing players together, making new friends, creating memories, and enjoying a full day of baseball with just the right amount of friendly competition mixed in. Some of the most important lessons in baseball aren’t learned from the field. They’re learned from the person who taught you how to throw your first baseball, cheered the loudest from the stands, helped you shake off a tough game, and reminded you to keep going after a difficult one. Today, we celebrate all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, mentors, coaches, and father figures who have helped shape our players both on and off the field. We’ve been named the recipient of the Don Harrison Award by the Rotary Club’s Daily Cash Lottery and Community Calendar Committee — recognizing our partnership and contribution to this incredible community fundraiser. Since becoming a Community Partner in 2023, Barrie Minor Baseball teams have sold 5,182 tickets, raising $103,640 in gross proceeds — money that supports both our teams’ seasons and a fantastic community cause. A huge thank you to every player, parent, and volunteer who knocked on doors, made the calls, and got these calendars out into the community. This award belongs to all of you. Unfortunately, House League Opening Day has been rained out. All 12:30 and later games have been cancelled. We know everyone was excited to get the 2026 season started, but player safety/field conditions always come first. Apparently Canadian weather had other plans for us today. We’re just as eager as our players to get back on the diamond and kick off another great summer of baseball. Thank you for your patience and support and we’ll see you at the field soon. ⚾
