We have a HEAT WAVE on our hands! Here’s a few tips to stay safe: 🥤 DRINK WATER Hydration is key. Bring a full water bottle and drink regularly throughout practices and games, don’t wait until you’re thirsty. 🧴 WEAR SUNSCREEN Protect your skin by applying sunscreen before heading to the field and reapplying throughout the day. 🌳 TAKE SHADE BREAKS Cool off in the shade between innings, practices, or whenever you need a break from the sun. 🌡️ KNOW THE SIGNS Dizziness, headache, nausea, confusion, and excessive fatigue can all be signs of heat-related illness. If you or a teammate aren’t feeling well, tell a coach or parent immediately. LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER Keep an eye on teammates, friends, coaches, and family members. A simple check-in can make a big difference on hot days. The safety of our players, coaches, volunteers, officials, and families is always our top priority. ⚾️ Mid Summer Classic ⚾️ 📆 Saturday, July 4, 2026 📍 Barrie Sports Complex The time is almost here for our annual Mid Summer Classic! In true sandlot fashion, teams will be created through a random glove toss on event day, no pre-selected rosters. Players from the same House League team may find themselves competing against one another, making for a fun and unique experience. The Mid-Summer Classic is all about bringing players together, making new friends, creating memories, and enjoying a full day of baseball with just the right amount of friendly competition mixed in. Some of the most important lessons in baseball aren’t learned from the field. They’re learned from the person who taught you how to throw your first baseball, cheered the loudest from the stands, helped you shake off a tough game, and reminded you to keep going after a difficult one. Today, we celebrate all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, mentors, coaches, and father figures who have helped shape our players both on and off the field.
